The Magnificent Mitch Ryan

Our Six Foot Bubble™ tour guides are known for being the ‘special sauce’ on top our tour experience. That being said, this week there is another fantastic tour guide to tell you about.

Mitch Ryan, Mobile Entertainment’s self-appointed “Head of Technology” has been a Human On A Stick tour guide for two years. This summer he utilized his skills in data and analytics to further develop the Human On A Stick website, and did a lot of work on the new Six Foot Bubble™ website.

Ryan is a statistics senior at the University of Minnesota. Although he describes himself as a ‘huge numbers guy,’ he enjoys sharing history with others on our guided Segway tours

“So many people [on our tours] are from the Twin Cities but have no idea about the history of the city. It’s fun for them to learn,” says Ryan. “Also, the vibes on a Segway are unmatched.”

As a Segway tour guide, Ryan’s favorite tour to give is the Minneapolis Walker Sculpture Garden Tour, which is an eight-mile route through downtown Minneapolis that takes you through Loring Park, and more in addition to the Minneapolis Walker Sculpture Garden. He enjoys this tour because people eating outside at restaurants along the Nicollet Mall always give the riders high 5s on their way back through the mall.

As a techie, he is also excited about the use of audio technology in the new Six Foot Bubble™ Tours, which are audio-narration guided tours.

“I think the new tours signal the company’s mission to utilize any and all technology to give customers the best possible experience,” explains Ryan. “I enjoy the work I do helping with these efforts because finding solutions to technological problems is extremely satisfying.”

To hear more about the work he’s been doing on the backend of the website, which Ryan claims to be “sorta boring,” book a Magical History Tour or Minneapolis Walker Sculpture Tour and request Mitch Ryan.

“I would like to take this section to graciously accept my Guide of the Week award,” says Ryan. “When I started as a Segway Tour Guide, I didn’t do it for the awards; I did it because I wanted to put a smile on peoples’ faces.”
