Mobile Entertainment history started with the “Segway Revolution.” Since no one in the United States yet offered Segway rides, we didn’t quite know how widespread this revolution would become. We did know that the experience of the Segway’s self-balancing technology was a unique and entertaining way to spend 2-3 hours– if you had more to offer than a joy ride. So we bought a fleet of Segways and basically had to figure out what to do with them.

In 2003, we launched Human on a Stick, the first business in the country to offer Segway tours. We opened our store’s doors on St. Anthony Main in Minneapolis, Minnesota and gave birth to our now well-known “Magical History Tours.” At the time we had an estimated product cycle of 18-36 months, but we are now reaching the 20 year mark as a company and have the largest fleet of Segways in the world.

We have had more riders at our Minneapolis location than any other Segway tour company in the world, and we achieved this by taking the best care of our customers. We established right away that safety is our #1 responsibility and the best way to assure a safe environment is having an ample amount of well-trained staff per customer. Our goal is five or six customer to staff ratio, which is double the industry standard.

Covid statement: The health and safety of our customers and employees is our top priority. That is why we are committed following the Minnesota Department of Safety’s guidelines and restrictions and staying updated on the latest Covid-19 information. We sanitize every Segway and related equipment before and after each use, and all are required to wear masks.

Today we have walking, biking, and seasonal ghost tours in addition to our popular Segway tours. We are also expanding our tour services by including customer-influenced, state-of-the art audio equipment to offer a rich experience, even at extended distances. By bridging mesh networking technology with top of the shelf audio equipment, we have crafted new tours that are narration-guided for a surreal, history retelling.

Six Foot Bubble™ Tours: In February 2020, at the frontend of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Six Foot Bubble™ concept was born. Six Foot Bubble™ Tours are a series of walking tours that offer engaging audio narration in fascinating and historical locations, such as the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and Irving Park in Saint Paul. This idea came to fruition because we wanted to offer something positive in a negative situation; keep the fun moving while also adhering to safety guidelines.
