The Artistic Anna Smith

This week’s Tour Guide of the Week is Anna Smith– a Segway tour guide with Mobile Entertainment’s company Human On A Stick for the past three years, and now the Graphic Design Intern on the Six Foot Bubble™ team.

As a Iowa State University senior studying industrial design, she brings her passion for design into the products she creates for Six Foot Bubble™, which are maps of the tour routes.

“While studying industrial design I have learned the importance of considering the environmental implications of the things we create,” says Smith. “I am really passionate about sustainable design because I think it is incredibly important to create products that serve a purpose and can be used for years. This is important to me because it reduces the amount of waste produced and will lead to a better cleaner planet.”

Smith has designed maps of Saint Paul Irvine Park tour, the Minneapolis Walker Sculpture Garden tour, the Minnesota State Capitol Grounds tour, and the Northeast Minneapolis tour.

For each of the maps, she creates several icons that represent highlights of the tour.

This is an image of the Capitol Grounds tour map, to demonstrate the work that Anna Smith has done.

“I love Mobile Entertainment because the community of people are absolutely amazing and has allowed me to grow my design skills,” explains Smith. “Mobile Entertainment has taught me to take risks and be confident in myself!”

Smith is interested in pursuing a career in the outdoor industry, designing sustainable products for a sustainable earth.

If you want to chat with her about her designs or how she redesigned her backpack, catch Smith on a Human On A Stick Segway tour.
